Paul Victor Krolfifer
June 9, 1961 ~ April 1, 2013
MONTEREY – Paul V. Krolfifer was born a fourth generation Monterey native on June 9, 1961 and passed over the threshold on April 1, 2013.
Paul was passionate about so many things, especially his many friends who enriched his life in many ways. Since his early teens, he was an avid collector and restorer of antique radios and record players. He artistically restored wood and plastic chassis, constructed silicone moulds and totally rewired and replaced old tubes located from supply sources all over the world. He was a delightfully tolerant, gentle, positive and unassuming soul. He was an accomplished chef, especially at BBQ!
Paul leaves behind his partner, Marka and dark spots in the hearts of his brother, John; sister-in-law, Marisa; niece, Elena and his uncle, Sam Balester and cousin, Ben Balester who was especially kind to him during his last days. He will be missed by his childhood friend, Chris Hilleary of Phnom Penh and good buddy, Ben Garcia of Salinas. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry and mother, Lene (nee Balesteri), maternal and fraternal grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
Paul requested that in lieu of any service a family gathering and dinner be held on Fisherman's Wharf on April 7. Paul expressed gratitude for his life; love, peace and encouragement to all family and friends. He shares with you a favorite thought from Rudolf Steiner: "If we do not believe within ourselves this deeply-rooted feeling that there is something higher than ourselves, we shall never find the strength to evolve into something higher.".
